Google take over Blogspot!

Blogger has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Google, the Internet search company. This is exciting news not only for all of us on the Blogger team, but for our users, our partners, and most importantly -- the blogosphere itself.

Understandably, you probably have lots of questions about what this means for Blogger and Blogger users. Below, we've put together some initial answers to many of the biggest questions. More info will be available as we figure it out. Thanks for your support as we transfer into this next exciting phase.

Q: Why did Blogger sell to Google?
A: Well, on the surface, it may look obvious: A company of Google's size could give Blogger the resources we needed to do things better, faster, bigger. It's been a long eleven+ years since we started the company, and not all of them were very fun. We had been making serious progress over the last year or so, but bootstrapping (growing without funding) is always a slow process, and we were a long way from where we wanted to be. We wanted to offer a better service. And with Google, it wasn't just their size, of course. They had clearly done an incredible job building their technology and business, and we'd been big fans.

However, that doesn't mean it was an easy decision. We'd seen many small companies doing interesting things die (or at least become uninteresting) after getting acquired. It was only after becoming convinced that: a) There were sensible, cool, powerful things we could do on the technology/product side with Google that we couldn't do otherwise; and b) It was a good company, run by people we liked, who wanted the same things we did (i.e., they wouldn't screw up Blogger or make our lives miserable).

We became convinced both of these were the case rather quickly after thinking about the product side and talking to lots of Googlers.   Also, Google liked our logo. And we liked their food.

Q: Will Blogger go away?
A: Nope. Blogger is going to maintain its branding and services. While we may integrate with Google in certain areas there will always be a Blogger.

Q: What does the acquisition mean to Blogger users?
A: Greater reliability, new innovative products and a whole lot more that we aren't ready to share quite yet (truth is, we're still figuring a lot of it out). Right now, we're mostly bolstering up our hardware -- making things faster and more reliable -- and getting settled. Next, we're going to be working on some killer ideas we've been wanting to implement for years. It'll be fun.

Q: Will there be any changes to my account?
A: Not right now but if anything does change we will notify you ahead of time, as we've done in the past.

Q: Will there be any changes to the Blogger products?
A: We will be making some changes in our product line. We've been working on a new version of Blogger for some time now that will be coming out soon. We'll tell you more as soon as we know.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: We are building a nuclear powered... Wait, you almost had us. We aren't telling, yet! But we will have more in a few weeks.

Q: Does this mean my blog will rank higher in Google search results?
A: Nope. It does mean your blog might be stored physically closer to Google but that's about it. The people at Google have done a great job over the years making sure their search results are honest and objective and there's no reason they would change that policy for Blogger or anyone else.

 PERJUANGAN YANG BELUM SELESAI
Sesungguhnya tidak ada yang lebih menyayatkan
dari melihat bangsaku dijajah
Tidak ada yang lebih menyedihkan
dari membiarkan bangsaku dihina

Air mata tiada ertinya
sejarah silam tiada maknanya
sekiranya bangsa tercinta terpinggir
dipersenda dan dilupakan

Bukan kecil langkah wira bangsa
para pejuang kemerdekaan
bagi menegakkan kemuliaan
dan darjat bangsa
selangkah beerti mara
mengharung sejuta dugaan

Biarkan bertatih
asalkan langkah itu yakin dan cermat
bagi memastikan negara
merdeka dan bangsa terpelihara
air mata sengsara
mengiringi setiap langkah bapa-bapa kita

Tugas kita bukan kecil
kerana mengisi kemrdekaan
rupanya lebih sukar dari bermandi
keringat dan darah menuntutnya

Lagi pula apalah ertinya kemerdekaan
kalau bangsaku asyik mengia dan menidakkan,
mengangguk dan membenarkan,
kerana sekalipun bangganya negara
kerana makmur dan mewahnya,
bangsaku masih melata
dan meminta-minta di negaranya sendiri

Bukan kecil tugas kita
meneruskan perjuangan kemerdekaan kita
kerana rupanya selain memerdekakan,
mengisi kemerdekaan itu jauh lebih sengsara

Bangsaku bukan kecil hati dan jiwanya
bukankah sejak zaman berzaman
mereka menjadi pelaut, pengembara
malah penakluk terkemuka?
Bukankah mereka sudah mengembangkan sayap,
menjadi pedagang dan peniaga

selain menjadi ulama dan
ilmuan terbilang?
Bukankah bangsaku pernah mengharung
samudera menjajah dunia yang tak dikenal
Bukankah mereka pernah menjadi
wira serantau yang tidak mengenal
erti takut dan kematian?
Di manakah silapnya hingga bangsaku
berasa begitu kecil dan rendah diri?
Apakah angkara penjajah?
Lalu bangsaku mulai
melupakan kegemilangan silam
dan sejarah gemilang membina empayar

Tugas kita belum selesai rupanya
bagi memartabat dan
memuliakan bangsa
kerana hanya bangsa yang berjaya
akan sentiasa dihormati

Rupanya masih jauh dan berliku jalan kita
bukan sekadar memerdeka dan mengisinya
tetapi mengangkat darjat dan kemuliaan
buat selama-lamanya

Hari ini, jalan ini pasti semakin berliku
kerana masa depan belum tentu
menjanjikan syurga
bagi mereka yang lemah dan mudah kecewa

Perjuangan kita belum selesai

– Bernama

HEARING a scraping sound while putting up the curtains in the living room, a housewife was stunned to see that a monitor lizard had wandered into the house.
More shockingly, the reptile quickly moved to the adjoining bedroom and crawled up to where her two-month-old baby was sleeping, Sinar Harian reported.
“I quickly rushed to the bed to pick up my child and panicked when I saw traces of blood on the little girl's head,” said Nor Faizah Aziz, 27, when relating the incident which occured at 11.30am on Tuesday at her house in Pendang, Kedah.

Her family called the local Civil Defence Corps to catch the 5kg reptile while she rushed to a clinic to have little Eryna Insirah Mohd Redzuan, who had scratches and light injuries on her head, treated.
Pendang civil defence operations chief Izzudin Inus Meah said it took them five minutes to trap the scaly intruder which vomited out a kitten before it was caught.

He said the lizard would be handed over to the wildlife department, adding that it was a rare case since the corps had mainly dealt with snakes slithering into homes previously.
> Suspicions about an adulterous husband as well as worries about poor-performing children and being jobless have led to much of the stress among Malaysian women, reported Berita Harian.
Those with jobs worry they have to work much harder to gain recognition compared with men and they are anxious to give a good impression of themselves to others.
Clinical sociologist Datuk Dr Wan Halim Othman said women were sticklers for perfection which is the main cause for stress.

“If not curbed, stress levels will continue to rise resulting in abnormal behaviour,” said Dr Wan Halim on the Nielsen survey which listed Malaysians as the 16th most stressed women in the world.
However, he said being in the 16th place was quite good and showed local women knew how to handle stress, compared with women in India who have to deal with economic issues.
Malaysia Social Institute director Assoc Prof Dr Mohd Fadzil Che Din said Malaysian women placed great emphasis on their careers, especially when they were given opportunities to take posts previously dominated by men.

“Women have to work twice as hard but receive half the recognition because some perceive they are not as good as men.
“Self-improvement for women include more personal aspects. Women need to look after themselves more compared with men,” he added

FRU acted according to procedures

If allegations of excessive use of force by the police, in particular the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU), during the July 9 illegal rally here hold water, hundreds of protestors would have sought medical treatment, says a retired FRU commander.
Going by such allegations, the protestors would have either been hospitalised or the least, given out-patient treatment, noted Sulaiman Menga Din.
FRU personnel, he said, were trained to use minimal force in dispersing demonstrators as provided for under the law, and observe standard operating procedures.
He said all police personnel were strictly required to obey the orders which were minuted, including the alleged indiscriminate firing of tear gas canisters.
"Each time, FRU men are required to be on the ground, they undergo briefing based on the information received on the expected crowd, the issues involved, and whether they were armed, and other relevent information,” Sulaiman told Bernama in an interview today.
He said during the July 9 illegal rally, officers involved in the operation were told to, not only prevent crowds from gathering in the city centre but also thwart possible clashes among rival groups of demonstrators.
“You must understand that nowadays, almost every single action or movement is being recorded and within minutes, it is uploaded on the websites and viewers can follow, even unfolding almost live.
"Here”s the problem for the police...viewers were not cautioned or trained to filter information fed to them or what the actual incidents were, occuring at the scene,” said Sulaiman.
He said the problems occured when only selected or isolated incidents were highlighted and the police were not given the opportunity to defend themselves.
Sulaiman, who was FRU commander between 1996-99, said people failed to understand procedures adopted by the riot police in the country, as compared to other countries.
"Almost every day, there are news channels highlighting how demonstrators were mistreated, and the excessive use of force by riot police even in so-called countries championing human rights,” he said.
Sulaiman said, based on his experience in 1998, it was a difficult task to round up some 1,600 demonstrators and screen them before releasing them by 9pm.
He said, not even 10 people turned up the next morning at police stations to lodge reports if they had really been mistreated.
"But people just talk about injuries sustained among demonstrators. What about our men who were injured during demonstrations in 1998, where catapults and stones were used against them?,” he asked.
Sulaiman noted, even when Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his bodyguard claimed they were hit by tear gas canisters, they were allowed to seek treatment at a private medical centre of their choice and the police did not stop or threaten to arrest them.
He stressed that each policeman was trained to respect an individual”s rights and to only step in, if they violated the law.
“What we saw on July 9, was that the demonstrators had violated and showed disrespect to the laws and our men in blue were just carrying out their duties as required...as simple as that,” he said.
On the recruitment of FRU personnel, Sulaiman said those with the right qualities, especially the “cool-headed” ones, and well-versed with the laws, were given priority.
Sulaiman said post-mortems were also regularly conducted to identify weaknesses or any wrongdoing by officers or personnel during operations.
"In the past, action was taken against our men, including dismissing them from the unit (FRU),” he said. - Bernama

Datin Seri Rosmah ring and jacob

This FIRST DOCUMENT is proof that the RM24 million diamond ring OWNED by New York-based Jacob & Co was brought into the country for a private exhibition by Jacob & Co's regional agent MALCA-AMIT.

THIS is the much publicised RM24 million ( I repeat it is RINGGIT MALAYSIA 24 million as stated in the Royal Malaysian Customs declaration forms).

The Royal Malaysian Customs declaration form below is proof that the RM24 million diamond ring which was brought into our country for a private exhibition by its New York-based owners, Jacob & Co, was taken OUT of Malaysia on the 20th of April, 2011. - four days after arrival on the 16th of April, 2011.

Below is the proof -

So its a fact that the much talked about ring was brought into the country.

It is also a fact that the regional agent for Jacob & Co did use Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor's name (it says 'inspection by') on the Customs declaration form.

It is a fact that such fine jewellery, as this diamond ring OWNED by Jacob & Co, IS NOT a taxable item under the Malaysian LAW.

It is also true that a private exhibition by Jacob & Co's regional agent did take place in a private residence of a VVIP in Kuala Lumpur sometime between the 17th - 19th of April, 2011.

NOW the interesting part .....

It is NOT TRUE that the RM24 million ring owned by Jacob & Co was PURCHASED by any of the VVIPs who were present at the "private exhibition'.

The RING IS NOW WITH ITS RIGHTFUL OWNERS - JACOB & Co in New York - Thank You.

It is a BIG LIE that the Prime Minister's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor had purchased the ring with her savings as being propagated by some politicians and their desperate lackeys.

These Opposition politicians are so desperate that they have even created a FAKE Utusan Malaysia front-page montage.

Singapore-Malaysia match

Malaysian football fans heading to Singapore to watch the Malaysia versus Singapore World Cup qualifier must check the availability of tickets, before deciding to go.
That”s the advice from the host, the FA of Singapore for Malaysian fans intending to make the trip across the Causeway for the match at the Jalan Besar stadium on July 23.
Kelvin Leong, the Media officer for FAS told Bernama that the Malaysian allocation of tickets for the match was with the FA of Malaysia.
"My advice is that any Malaysian fan wanting to come for the match should check with the FAM if there are tickets available.
"It would not be fair for the Malaysians who have traveled a long way to Singapore, only to find out there are no tickets left,” said Kelvin.
As it is, the Jalan Besar stadium has only a seating capacity of an estimated 5,000 and it”s size is therefore a handicap when it comes to hosting an international match that attracts a huge following.
"The 60,000 capacity National stadium is now closed for reconstruction.
Otherwise it would have been ideal. But we have to make do with the Jalan Besar stadium now and believe me the demand for tickets is huge.
"We receive hundreds of calls per day, asking for tickets, and we are prepared for a mad rush,” added Kelvin.
In fact, sales of tickets priced at S$15 for the grandstand and S$7 for the gallery will start tomorrow and Sunday, but it is only reserved for Singaporeans and permanent residents.
"You need to show your identity card to purchase tickets and if you are a Malaysian you are not entitled to buy one,” added Kelvin.

Akta Sewa Beli kenderaan menyusahkan

Kerajaan diminta menangguhkan sementara pelaksanaan pindaan Akta Sewa Beli 1967 kerana ia didakwa menyusahkan pelbagai pihak termasuk memperlahankan jualan kenderaan.
