Pre-operational license to Lynas

 Lynas Corporation Ltd for process the rare earth in Gebeng, has not yet been licensed by the government despite the pre-operational panel of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) decided the plant safe.

according to the Minister of International Trade and Industry, the license will not be released as long as the government is not satisfied with the compliance of the proposed improvements IAEA.


"With the certification by the IAEA, we believe the community will have more confidence Kuantan safety Lynas operations, and the government will make sure the certificate are complied with," he said.

"We have set up a task force to ensure that all recommendations made by a panel of the IAEA at the end of June this year, complied with, if not, action will be taken," he told reporters after visiting the factory BASF Petronas Chemicals Sdn Bhd yesterday.
