The Government today gave further period of six months for manufacturers and assemblers in the country adhere to install airbags in vehicles starting next year.
According to Transport Minister Datuk Kong Cho Ha, the ministry is prepared to discuss with the parties concerned and to offer an extension.
"We are ready to give the relaxation time. Maybe six months for them to comply with these regulations. We do think that should ... if you have trouble with, came to talk to us,"
All vehicles are required to install air bags except four-wheel drive, in an effort to reduce road accident deaths.
