Halal certification not from JAKIM (import butter)

 The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) has never issued any halal certification mark to any butter imported into the country.

Acting Director of JAKIM's Halal Hub, Hakimah Mohamad Yusuf (pictured) said that so far the government does not accept any application for halal certification from manufacturers overseas butter.

"Butter imported products were not certified by JAKIM, but certification from the foreign body that is recognized by JAKIM.

"So far, there are several foreign butter products are monitored and scrutinized,".

However, he did not disclose the total butter imports have the halal certificate.-kosmo
