Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd is facing shortage of components, which will delay delivery of products following the suspension of its manufacturing plants in Ayutthaya, Thailand.

Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co Ltd had to suspend production following floods that hit the country today, according to Honda Malaysia said in a statement today.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia said Yoichiro Ueno, since Monday, the company reduced output to extend the Malacca factory production using the existing stock.

"However, the submission of all we built a model unit is not affected at this time," he said.

Ueno said, Ayutthaya factory direct flooded and not accessible by road until now.

"This makes it difficult for us to estimate the recovery time.
