People living in low lying areas and river banks have been advised to take precautionary measures as flash floods may occur on Nov 1 and 2.
A Meteorological Department spokesman said Penang is expected to receive heavy rainfall for two days (Nov 1 and 2) that will cause flash floods in low lying areas.
"We have issued a yellow warning as heavy rainfall is expected in several areas in Penang, North Perak, Kedah and Perlis on Nov 1 and 2 due to the monsoon change," said the statement.
Meanwhile, State Exco for Health, Welfare, Caring Society and Environment Phee Boon Poh urged people living in flood prone areas to clear clogged drains.
