Penang Water Supply Board (PWSB) report there would be a 24 hour water supply disruption in Gertak Sanggul,Teluk Kumbar, while in Seberang Perai, Georgetown, Farlim, Bayan Baru, Bayan Lepas and Batu Maung the water supply disruption would be for 12 hours. Tanjung Bungah, Batu Ferringhi and Teluk Bahang would not be affected.
The water supply disruption is due to upgrading and maintenance work of the water treatment plants at Sungai Dua, Seberang Perai and Stesen Pam Bukit Dumbar on the island.Almost 80 per cent of Penang,will be affected by a water supply disruption of between 12 and 24 hours from 7am on Dec 28.
PWSB would also conduct its periodical electrical and mechanical maintenance work at the Stesen Pam Bukit Dumbar and also to carry out installation of main pipes at Simpang Jalan Sungai Dua, Jalan Pekan Darat and Jalan Bukit Tengah for the track railway project,all residents advised to store enough water for use during the period.
